How Educational Leaders can use blogs

Blogs can be an effective resource for educational leaders for getting quick bits of information out, keeping communities updated on new projects, how sports teams are doing, or events that are coming up.  The ability to get the information out quickly, and to the point is a great tool in informing the community of what is going on behind the scenes at their ISD.  The more information that the community gets, the less likely they are to fill in their own blanks, with their own information.  This would be a great opportunity to try to stay ahead of what is going on.

Action Research and Use

Action research is simply what the name suggests.  It is a way to actively work through problems, address weaknesses, and find ways to work towards strengthen them.  Through the Lamar Principal program, I was able to put this practice to use, by constantly working through issues, and strengths/weaknesses to get to an end learning goal.  With that in mind, I will employ the same amount of knowledge/interest in working through the Academic Partnership program in the Superintendent Certification route.
Action research is a very hands on way of taking the proverbial "Bull by the Horns", and mastering through active hands on activities.  During the Principal program we were able to create internship logs, and actively work through issues, and processes, that have been very helpful in not only earning certification, but actually serving in an administrative role over the past year.
With that in mind, I feel that the idea of "Action Research" is a great way to get hands on experience in practice while working towards a goal.  In this case it will be dealing with work towards Superintendent certification.
