Administrative and Leadership Experience

 

Athletic Director with Administrative Responsibilites,

Maypearl High School and Middle School/Maypearl ISD

Maypearl, TX 2012-Present

 

§  Administered the Athletic Department which comprised of 12 team sports and over 30 teams ranging from High School to Middle School.

§  Served as the District Chair for 10-2A in the sports of Softball and Golf

§  Created Student Athletic Code of Conduct for the Department

§  Was in charge of athletic budget, and building our “zero based budgeting”

§  In charge of creating facility surveys for needs based assessment and future planning.

§  Developed and implemented an Athletic Campus Improvement Plan.

§  Responsible for allocating funds for professional development for staff members, and allowing for opportunities for staff members to grow.

§  Created our “Life of an Athlete” program to promote leadership behaviors for the department

§  Created our Panther Athletic Council for students to serve in a leadership capacity to address issues in Athletics.

§  Created new “quality control” methods for inventory.

§  In charge of facility management, scheduling, rental, etc for all athletic facilities.

§  Established guidelines for continuous improvement cycles within the department for each sport/activity.  This also established procedures for growth and development programs for each coach, as well as each team.

§  Established partnerships with Baylor Sports Medicine, and North Texas Sports Medicine Clinic to develop new concussion oversight team, as well as protocol for managing student safety.

§  Established Impact testing for all athletes for concussion awareness.

§  Created crisis management plans for athletic facilities, and sport contests with help from Baylor Sports Medicine, as well as FEMA training.

§  Created a partnership with Adidas for sports teams that created an identity for the program.

§  Partnered with our Panther Athletic Booster Club to help with needs assessments for programs, and alternative funding to address those needs.

§  Created standards for curriculum development in all sports so that they were consistent from the entry levels through varsity teams.

§  Created open lines of communication between youth leagues, and school teams.

§  Was in charge of looking over several campus athletic improvement projects such as: construction of a new football field, and track, renovations of both the High School and Middle School basketball gyms, creation of baseball and softball practice fields, and currently working on construction of new tennis courts, as well as renovation to baseball and softball game fields, and golf complex additions.

§  In charge of campus discipline for all students at Maypearl High School.

§  Helped in writing/revising the MISD student code of conduct.

§  Developed the MISD high school crisis management plan in regards to evacuations, lock down procedures, and drills.

§  Responsible for organizing our partnership with campus drug dog program.

 

Girls Athletic Coordinator

§  Organized the entire girls athletic program from grades 7-12 in all sports. 

§  Was in charge of facility upkeep and scheduling.

§  Created strength and conditioning curriculum for entire girls athletic program.

§  In charge of all UIL paperwork for girls athletics, and making sure that we were in UIL compliance.

§  Served on the TCCED Accreditation Team that worked on meeting campus goals that the TCCED team suggested we improve on.  Helped to set new goals for the campus and clarify our mission statement.

Head Girls Basketball Coach

Maypearl High School, Maypearl, TX, 2010-Present

§  Led team to two consecutive 20 win seasons as well as two consecutive playoff bids.

§  Was the school’s first 20 win season in 12 years, and the first playoff appearance in 10.

§  Won the school’s first playoff game in 13 years with a Bi-District Championship in 2013.

§  Had 7 of our 12 members qualify for Academic All District.

§  Due to success, team was invited to major tournaments such as: Whataburger, McDonald’s, and Great East Texas Shoot Out.

§  Responsible for all phases of the program including, but not limited to: practice planning, professional development needs, staff retention and training, game and travel planning, budget processing based on needs, organization of teams, communication with stakeholders.

 

Head Girls Basketball Coach
Nolan Catholic High School, Fort Worth, TX 2008-2010

§  Finished as State Runner Up in 2010, after losing to Bishop Lynch in the State Championship Game.

§  Finished as State Semi-Finalists in 2009.

§  Defeated rival Bishop Lynch for the first time in 30 years in district play.

§  56-16 record over two years.

§  Named District 1-5A Coach of the Year both seasons.

§  Selected to Coach the TAPPS 5A All Star Game.

§  Was responsible for all phases of the program including, but not limited to: practice planning, staff retention and training, game and travel planning, organization of teams, leagues, etc. and goal setting of teams and assessment, and communication with stakeholders.

§  Helped guide basketball team to a 29-8 record, and playoff appearance.

§  Managed budget for girls basketball program, and purchasing based upon needs assessment.

§  Team won 11 more games than the year before.
